Once you have confirmed your order and you have paid a 25% deposit, your order is put into our production queue. The period of time it takes to get through production will greatly depend on the number of orders ahead of you in the queue. Painted product, special orders and special glass can add to production time. An estimated timeframe will be given to customers at the time of order – Please note that this timeframe is a general estimate based on projections (estimates may vary slightly). Timeframes can vary due to complexity of job, unforeseen circumstances with other projects, seasonal weather & time of year the order was placed.
After you have placed your order with FCI Windows, you will receive confirmation of your order. Please read it over very carefully. Check colour, swing, window type and configuration to insure you are getting exactly what you want. If you have any questions regarding your order, don’t hesitate to call and discuss your concerns with your salesman.
Once your product is ready, you will receive a call from our Project Manager. At this time, you will be asked to book an installation date. On the day of installation, our crews will load your product and be on site (depending on your location) at 8:00am. The Project Manger will give you an estimated time of arrival when the job is booked.
Upon arrival, our crew(s) will introduce themselves and go over the order with you to ensure everything is correct. You will also be given the invoice at this time. Check it over and make sure the final amount owing is correct. The crew(s) will then set up in the driveway or other specified location. Electrical power will be required to run our tools. There will be an installer inside the opening as well as one outside during the installation. The old window or door will be removed, the opening prepped, and the new window or door installed in the opening - minimizing the time the area is open to the elements.
Drop sheets will be placed on the floor inside the opening and every attempt will be made to minimize dust and dirt from inside your home. Please be mindful that this is a construction project and there will be a certain amount of dust and debris involved. There will be every attempt made to keep the construction site clean, tidy and with as little disruption possible. If there are specific concerns regarding items in the home (floors, furniture, collectibles etc.), it is the customers responsibility to move/protect anything that they feel may need special attention.
Once all the product has been installed, finished and the site cleaned, you will be shown how to operate your new windows and have any questions you might have answered. You will be given the choice of paying by cheque, cash or credit card. Cheques and cash can be given to the lead installer. If you are paying by credit card, there is a form on the bottom of the invoice that can be filled out and sent back with the lead installer.
Any window coverings including blinds, furniture and wall hangings in close proximity to the window or door being installed should be moved from the area. Also, having a clean area outside the window or door will help insure a safe working environment for our crews. FCI Windows cannot be held responsible for damage caused by the removal of window coverings, furniture or wall hangings around the windows or doors being installed if done by our install team.
If your job involves a Cut Down, Cut Over or Cut Out (Meaning the window or door you are having installed is larger then your existing window or you are having a window or door installed where no window or door presently exists) FCI Windows will come back and inspect the cut location for any signs of electrical or plumbing.
Due to the strict codes and Ministry of Labour regulations, FCI Windows cannot remove or relocate any live electrical wires or plumbing in any way. It is the responsibility of the customer to have all wires and/or plumbing removed from the proposed opening prior to the installation date. (If wires or plumbing are found in the opening during installation, we will be forced to terminate the work until these can be re-located by a qualified person. And an extra charge may be applied to your order)
Exterior finish - FCI Windows uses pre-painted aluminum and custom bend (Capping) to seal and finish the outside of the window or door. We will then caulk to finish with a high quality/exterior caulking. (Please note that colours between Aluminum and caulking do not always match perfectly.)
